What BollyAI Thinks

Yorknew City is where Hunter x Hunter stops being a great shonen and becomes something critics struggle to classify comfortably. The Phantom Troupe is one of the medium's finest antagonist ensembles - not evil in the way shonen villains usually are, but operating by a code that the show takes seriously enough to make you question your own allegiances. Kurapika's arc is pure revenge tragedy: methodical, cold, and heading somewhere emotionally expensive. Killua's family visit (Zoldyck arc) in the preceding episodes adds a texture about privilege, inheritance, and abuse that sits awkwardly with the adventure-anime framing and is better for that. Greed Island is lighter and game-mechanics-focused but still dense; Togashi uses the video-game setting to stress-test the Nen system. IMDb episode scores in the Yorknew City stretch consistently break 9.2.

The Yorknew arc represents a significant maturity leap - darker morality, tighter plotting, an antagonist cast that commands the screen independently of the protagonists.
