What BollyAI Thinks

Season 2 is a case study in how much visual production quality matters to an action anime's reception. J.C.Staff took over from Madhouse and the gap is apparent within episodes - the fluidity, the weight, the monster design that made Season 1 feel like theatrical animation on a television schedule, all noticeably diminished. The story itself - Hero Association politics, Garou's debut as an antihero, the King reveal - is competent and occasionally sharp. Garou is a genuinely interesting character archetype: a man who wants to be the monster the world treats underdogs as. But the fights that should illustrate his threat are staged at a level that does not match the character's billing. Watchable and worth following for franchise fans; not the entry point for anyone skeptical of anime action.

Season Over Season

A significant production downgrade from Season 1 that the better story material cannot fully compensate for.
