The expanded canvas works as a strength and, at times, a drag, as the ten-episode structure gives the writers room to breathe but also allows some stretches to run slower than the debut series. Eleanor Tomlinson's Demelza continues to act as the show's moral compass, and the production values remain exemplary throughout.
